Hi Judy,
Got to say the first Fairport album is one of my favourite albums ever.
I am 31 now but discovered the album when at University going through the local library tapes and I can remember where I was when I first heard it. Magic.
I don't think anyone could sing 'I don't know where I stand' quite like you did.

Hello Judy,
Thank u very much for this fantastic album u made. I read on DGM u made a new record. So I decided to buy a signed and numbered copy. I'm glad I did. The best record in years that I bought. Your voice is phenomenal. The songs are superb!! Like David said, I hope it will be a commercial success. Artistically it already is! Well I wish u luck and hope I will see U in Holland sometimes!!?? Regards Han.

Judy,

I bought the Talking with Strangers album after seeing the BBC review and your voice is still very good. It must have been pretty good 40 years ago to attempt the Joni Mitchell material on the 1st Fairports Album.

Your version of KC's Talk to the Wind adds a whole new dimension to the song. I am hoping to persuade my daughter to sing it and attempt the flute solo. You are brave to come back after 30 years. Who knows, your collaborators might become next years big thing

Keep up the good work.

John

Judy.... I have the Young Persons Guide to King Crimson and loved your voice on I talk to the Wind. Years passed and then I stumbled across the BBC review of your new CD and asked my wife for it for my birthday.. and she got it for me. What can I say....just lovely. How amazing that you'd not been singing for 30 years. I see that I've missed your London concert and am hoping that you will come out and do some more? I really hope so.

Thank you all for your lovely comments, I am so glad you enjoyed the Barbican,Rolf, that was a memorable evening and we raised £200 for Greyhound Lifeline by selling the signed recorder that I played that night.
Phill, I am so glad you like the new album and if you bring the inlay to Cropredy next year (if you go!) I will happily sign it then.

And David, I am so pleased you enjoyed the launch gig and your memories of Simon are so lovely, thank you for telling me them. He was a very extraordinary person and I still miss him!

Hi Judy

Thank you so much for such a memorable concert at the 100 Club last night last night. I love the album, and seeing you sing it and watching the musicians make a subtly different version unfold moment by moment made the emotions even more real and was very special indeed. Your voice is as beautiful and unique as ever and the band were excellent too. It must have taken a lot of courage to get up sing a whole album’s worth of your own material after so long away from the prolonged glare of the spotlight and I hope it was as worth it for you as it was for your audience. Worth waiting 40 years for!

Thinking of things 40 years ago, I still have fond memories of Simon’s record shop, a dimly lit Aladdin’s cave full of interesting imports (some of them signed by the artists) with the super-knowledgeable Simon perched in the corner in his rustic pullover. As I remember it, the entrance was just a normal domestic front door and the shop area was well back down a long passage, to the extent that the first time I went there I thought I was going to end up in someone’s kitchen! There were several good London record shops of that era, but nothing quite like the Simon’s Stable experience. Very much of it’s time but somehow slightly Dickensian as well.
All the best with the new album, I hope it is as successful commercially as it is artistically (it is certainly one to be very proud of) and that you might think of doing more live appearances in the future.

With very best wishes,

David Carruthers

Bought the new CD at Cropredy after hearing tracks on Stuart Maconie's 6music show. It's a wonderful album, I love it so much.
Shame I missed the signing at the festival.
Thanks, Phill
